Bollinger Champagne Grande Annee 1999 with selected Premiers Crus grapes from 17 villages are in the 1999 blend of La Grande Annee 1999. Bollinger champagne is 63% Pinot Noir plus 37% Chardonnay. As Bollinger La Grande Annee is the Prestige Cuvee of Bollinger Champagne, it is produced only following exceptional quality harvest. La Grande Annee is produced as the Bollinger exceptional "terroir" together with long established viticulture techniques. It has been commented upon that:

* This vintage bears the mark of a fast maturing wine. With outstanding dry fruit pungency and nuttyness together with a certain acidity and toast flavours that speaks of a much older vintage.

* A magnificent Champagne with floral overtones, coffee and sweet cheese with vanilla and lemon qualities. Lively and lingering.

* With the colour of pale straw the scented posy nose was of fresh flowers with pear and peach. The offering we received was a joy to taste - quite memorable.

* The 1999 La Grande Annee would be summarised as: a refined flowery elegant wine with apricots, and peaches; clear and sharp honey with smoky oak.
